New digital electric gripper is to be given the designation E18

The new electric version of the RadiGrip has been given the designation E18, keeping the methodology of the existing range of pneumatic grippers. This model is equivalent to the "2518" where the first two digits specify the actuator bore. The new gripper will be electric motor driven hence the "E". The stroke to the gripper is 18mm as standard. The new RadiGrip E18 will be launched later this year.

Prototype testing success

A prototype of the new electrical RadiGrip completed first tests

First tests on the new electric RadiGrip prototype were successful, with the speed of operation, 18mm stroke, and 180N gripping force being achieved. The new model is designed to be a direct equivalent to the successful RadiGrip 2518 pneumatically operated gripper. Typical uses for the new electric version will be with cobots, but it is expected to find wide application with it's quiet operation andcontrollable speed, position, and grip force.
